As part of a team of five, the procurement planner role is critical in ensuring components arrive to meet business demands of on-time-in-full delivery to our customers.

This role manages the daily, weekly & monthly planning and requisition of materials for a group of key suppliers. A varied and busy role, you will be responsible for planning demands, raising purchase orders, monitoring confirmations and reporting on purchasing activities.  Managing the supplier relationships are key to ensuring suppliers meet agreed delivery schedules.

Responsibilities/Key Deliverables:

  • Place purchase orders, according to production requirements, and manage through to confirmation
  • Work internally with key stakeholders to improve governance and process efficiencies
  • Planning of stock requirements to drive efficiencies for both naughtone and the suppliers
  • Review and audit of suppliers on regular basis to facilitate closer working relationships and to identify & resolve issues and queries
  • Ensure product deadlines and timescales are met and co-ordinate with suppliers and the production factory ensuring that the stock meets the quality required
  • Liaising with suppliers to negotiate improved lead times and reduced costs
  • Maintaining stock products are up to date on internal systems, updating costs, codes, descriptions where necessary
  • Ensure the system is accurate and updated on a timely basis
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve any outstanding queries and issues, within agreed SLA
  • Liaise with other colleagues in the Procurement, Production and Warehousing regarding all deliveries of all goods & materials purchased to maintain accurate records and early escalate of issues
  • Attend shortage meeting and manage short lead-time requests from the business through to the supplier
  • Maintaining supplier scorecards and manage supplier KPI’s


Core Competencies:

  • Educated to A level standard with GCSE passes in Maths & English
  • Full & clean driving licence
  • Planning experience
  • Critical thinker
  • 3 years’ experience of working in a Procurement team, ideally gained from a manufacturing environment / sourcing raw material
  • Strong commercial understanding
  • Strong systems knowledge and pro-efficient in MS Excel / NAV
  • Experience of building effective relationships & and effective communicator
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
  • Team player
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills


Dimension of role;

Reporting to the Supplier Development Manager (Head of Procurement), the role is based in the Knaresborough office.  The role is part of the Procurement team and the successful applicant will work alongside colleagues in the operations team to ensure any issues, which may impact a customer order, are escalated and managed as early as possible within the process.
