2019 all wrapped up

2019 is drawing to a close and it’s time to reflect upon the past year at NaughtOne. It’s been a year of fantastic growth, award-wins and product launches that further enhance the family aesthetic of NaughtOne products, that work seamlessly together across varied demands and activities.

The year was off to a flying start when Pullman booth arrived; a luxurious and private collaboration space developed with AV integration in mind.  Pullman is an acoustic haven and has discrete cable management built in, making it ideal for breakout, small meetings or individual working.

Next up, NaughtOne was honoured with the prestigious Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade, celebrating business excellence across the UK. As one of 201 organisations nationally to be recognised with this distinguished award, NaughtOne was presented with the award by Lord Lieutenants David Kerfoot and Trevor Watson, in a Royal reception.

Clerkenwell Design Week and NeoCon were just around the corner after this win and marked the launch of Hue, Lasso and Viv Highback. New products meant a new showroom design, encompassing some of our much-loved pieces wearing the most on trend fabrics and finishes, that have impressed our visitors not only at the event, but throughout the rest of the year.

Mixology North rolled around and NaughtOne was proud to have Hue awarded Product of the Year: Loose Furniture. Designed by Ric Frampton, Hue is designed for dividing, creating and utilising awkward space whilst encouraging collaboration at a higher posture. As a luxurious retreat for group or individual work, Hue is perfect for use in narrow spaces, and is ideally suited for pre and post meeting situations.

Following a flurry of votes from the public and design community for Hue and Lasso in the Interior Design Best of Year Awards, Lasso was announced as the winner in the Educational Furniture category, which we’re all extremely proud of. Lasso is NaughtOne’s first collaborative seating and table system, that can be easily moved to create clusters. The Lasso seating range is ideally suited to project work within open spaces.

This year, NaughtOne was also shortlisted for Manufacturer of the Year at Mixology North and South, Hue was shortlisted for Product of the Year at the FX Design Awards and Exporter of the Year at the Lloyds Business Awards. We were also placed at number 32 in the Sunday Times SME Export Track 100.

Another big achievement was gaining sought after Health Product Declarations for a range of NaughtOne products, which provide full disclosure of the potential chemicals of concern in products, qualifying our products for numerous green building schemes, including LEED v4, WELL, Google Portico, and Living Product Challenge.

As usual, the NaughtOne team has been stuck in with charity fundraising through 2019, raising over £4000 for local hospice Martin House, through various fundraising activities including the Leeds Dragon Boat Race, where the team was placed 5th out of 30!

Our skilled sewing team have also been busy making 120 beautiful dog beds of various sizes, that have been donated to the RSPCA and Dogs Trust, to keep the dogs warm through winter. Fabric was kindly donated by our friends at Camira Fabrics.

The NaughtOne team would like to thank you all for your support through 2019 and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year with new NaughtOne products.
