Paris, 4-5 Dec 2023: Lucy Kurrein, designer of the Pippin moveable chair, hosted four intimate discussion groups with specially invited A&Ds from the city’s leading practices.
- The A&Ds loved Pippin’s comfort, shape and colour/upholstery options
- They said it fulfilled a need for relaxed mobile seating for collaboration
- We heard how important sustainability is – both to clients and the A&D practices themselves
Lucy gave a fascinating glimpse into her life as a creative and how a people-led approach informed the design of Pippin. She said,
- “I’m interested in human-sized design. The smaller footprint of Pippin makes it easy to get close to one another.”
- “As you sit back Pippin grounds you and opens your shoulders, so you don’t feel as if you’re about to rush off to the next thing. The feeling is ‘Sit down, let’s talk’.”
- “The handle on Pippin is a graphic invitation to move the chair around. You can easily move it short or long distances.”
