NaughtOne introduces Product IDs

Four NaughtOne products manufactured in our UK factory now feature discreet QR codes that link directly to information on how to easily repair, reuse, recycle, and responsibly dispose of the product at end of life, as well as care advice, sustainability data, warranty details and certifications.

With this initiative we’re not just thinking about today’s sale – we’re considering the life of the product after it leaves our factory. With Product IDs, future owners many years from now will be able to more easily extend the life of our products and therefore reduce waste – the cornerstone of circularity.

This project pushed us to learn and grow. It wasn’t easy. One of the biggest challenges we faced was the availability and quality of real-time data from our supply chain. Many of our suppliers simply didn’t have the systems or resources in place to support this level of data sharing. But rather than see this as a barrier, we embraced it as an opportunity to learn from one another, problem-solve together, and deepen our partnerships along the way.

Product IDs are the first step in a wider programme to launch Digital Product Passports across the NaughtOne portfolio. Digital Product Passports will build on the information provided by Product IDs, but go further — including details such as chemical composition, when the product was made, and who it was made by.
