Designed by Daniel Schofield
Fin feels like déjà vu – you think you’ve seen it before, but you haven’t. The striking, fully upholstered form recalls 1960s space age design but is made using far more sustainable materials. It’s dialled in proportions charm and invite from all angles, and the wide surfaces offer a thrilling launch pad for exploration in colour and materials. The form is effortless yet painstakingly intentional. Say hello to the pleasingly familiar yet refreshingly new.
Daniel is a British designer based in Copenhagen. With a background in carpentry and graphic design, his design philosophy centres on simplicity and functional beauty, with a focus on creating long-lasting designs by paring the essential with the charming.
Because of the materials it uses and its simple construction, Fin has the lowest embodied carbon of any lounge chair in the NaughtOne portfolio. The plywood frame is also incredibly durable and paired with high quality upholstery, this is a chair that will last – one of the first steps to sustainable design.
Fin is the charming outcome of a playful experiment. While folding two pieces of paper together, designer Dan Schofield happened on a form he liked. A reminder that great ideas often start at playtime.
